Moroccan Colonization
European colonization of Morocco came at a time where it faced economic and monetary problems. They were unable to defend themselves thus getting colonized. The bad thing about it is that it got split between France and Spain. This caused Morocco to be split and many family members or people have been separated from each other. Due to rivalry between France and Spain, constant warfare occurred at the border. Due to strong conquest, European citizens began traveling to Morocco for long-term stays. This caused the population of Morocco to be under the command of the European citizens. However through efforts of the exiled King Mohammed V the french retreated from Morocco. Later on Hassan II drove the Spanish away from the Western Sahara by means of a peaceful protest called the 'Green March'. However even if the French left Morocco, they had already carved up an influence in our history.
